Happy 9th Birthday

We were able to take birthday treats to school on Friday. They both took donuts, which kept it easy.
We also got to have lunch together.  They are all in the lunch room at the same time this year.  I love that I can see them all and eat with them once in awhile, when I'm not on duty!

Their birthday was on the weekend so we were able to have their party on their actual birthday this year.

Daddy and I stayed up really late installing a ballet bar in the garage and then setting up a basketball hoop the next night.  We just couldn't get them both up in one night.  We took them out in blindfolds after breakfast to see their presents.  I loved Emerson's face as she guided them out.

We need to lower the bar just a bit.  Oops!

Then pizza at Double Dave's for lunch while we waited for
the balloons to be filled.

 Time for a party!

I haven't done matching cakes for a long time.
Christian wanted strawberry and Julianna wanted red velvet but they were twin cakes on the outside.

What a great time!  Julianna said this birthday was the best.  I think she says that every year!

Ready to hoop it up!

Grammy and Grandpa got them new, big bikes this year!  So fun!

We decided to add a lower bar.

Back to School

MEET the TEACHER

Grammy and Daddy took the kids to Meet the Teacher.  I also had Meet the Teacher.  I'm afraid I'm always going to miss Meet the Teacher.

Emerson is starting second grade with Ms. Salazar.
We love Ms. Salazar!  I was lucky enough to have Ms. Salazar as a student teacher last year, spring semester!  She's the best!!!

Julianna and Christian are starting third grade and have two teachers this year.
They are in switch classes.
They won't be in the same class at the same time but they do have the same two teachers.
Mrs. Stroud is their Math, Science and Social Studies teacher.
She was also Christian's first grade teacher that we just adore.

Mrs. Kessner is their ELA teacher.
She also used to teach first grade with me long ago.
We love her passion for teaching and for her students!
We are so lucky to have two amazing third grade teachers!

FIRST DAY of SCHOOL

It's going to be another amazing year at Coulson Tough!
We couldn't have asked for a better school.

AUGUST

Swimming lessons continued.

The girls promoted to Bronze fins at the beginning of the month.  Christian joined them two weeks later.

Wouldn't be August if there wasn't back to school frenzy.  The new phonics kit from the July training is here.  Thankfully mom is in town to help!

We went to see the Lion King with Grammy.

Birthday dinner with Grammy.  US gymnastics were very captivating.

Happy Early Birthday Twins!
Grammy has to leave tomorrow.  Thank you for the new BIG bikes!
