Birthday morning started with a few gifts. She just couldn't wait!
Then this happened at school during PE. She turned around and ran into the wall. We had Camp Learned-a-Lot that morning so she stayed in my classroom with her ice pack and we watched for signs of concussion. She was OK but got a big goose egg. Not what she wanted for her birthday.
Emerson got to choose dinner! Lupe's it is!
Then home for cake.
Emerson wanted to have a friend party this year. It's such a busy time of year but we tried to have a play-date type party at the splash pad the Saturday after school was out. Sad for us the splash pad wasn't working that very hot morning. Oh well, the park it is. Her friends were great and didn't seem to mind playing in their swimsuits. We had lots of treats and pop ice to keep everyone cool.
We waited for Grammy to fly into town for her family party at home.

Emerson wanted to use her birthday money from Papa and Grammy for this...
